Happy Halloween!

We had such a great time trick or treating this weekend! I think it would have been better if I didn't have a broken foot. Oh you didn't know, I broke my foot on Thursday night tripping down the steps at the in-laws. It's a hairline fracture on my right foot. So I have a hole in my left leg and a broke right foot. I should just wrap myself in a bubble and never leave my house.

Friday night I did end up going to an adult halloween party and having a great time, although I paid for it on Saturday morning.

Saturday night Kyle and I took Addi trick or treating around the neighborhood. She had SO much fun!

This was after the last house of the night. She was very upset and said "more candy please?"

Sunday I took her over to her grandparents house and we went trick or treating with Jess and Jake.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Halloween Party

Man you guys are really getting spoiled with all of these blog posts in the past 2 weeks...what are you going to do when there's nothing going on?!

Anyways....today was Addi's school halloween party. I made 60 homemade sugar cookies for her class (and work).
She dressed up as Minnie Mouse and was happy to take pictures this morning before school

Never Grow Up-Taylor Swift

Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in and turn on your favorite nightlight
To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have honey
If you could stay like that

(Chorus:)
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you
Wont let no one break your heart
No one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Never grow up

You're in the car on the way to the movies
And you're mortified your mama's dropping you off
At 14, there's just so much you can't do
And you can't wait to move out
Someday and call your own shots
But don't make her drop you off around the block
Remember she's getting older too
And don't lose the way that you dance around in your PJs getting ready for school

(Chorus:)
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple

No one's ever burned
Nothing's ever left you scarred
Even though you want to, just try to never grow up
Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room
Memorize what is sounded like what your dad gets home
Remember the footsteps, remember the words said
And all your little brother's favorite songs
I just realized everything I had is someday gonna be gone
So here I am in my new apartment
In a big city, they just dropped me off
It's so much colder than I thought it would be
So I tuck myself in and turn my nightlight on

Wish I'd never grown up
I wish I'd never grown up
Oh I don't wanna grow up
Wish I'd never grown up
Could still be little
Oh I don't wanna grow up
It could still be simple

(Chorus:)
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
Won't let nobody hurt you
Won't let no one break your heat
And even through you want to, please try to never grow up
Don't you ever grow up
Just never grow up

Papi Bow....

Papi bow is my papa. My moms dad. Emiliegh started calling him papi bow because he has a dog named bow. Addi now calls him papi or papa, whatever she's in the mood for. I'm gonna stick to papa because it's easier to type.

Papa has been in and out of the hospital a lot lately. He was diagnosed with adult onset epilepsy and Alzheimer's. He can no longer be alone, can't drive and of course has a hard time remembering things. This became more apparent to me when he kept calling Addi a boy today. My mom and I would correct him but it just wasn't working.

My mom is now staying with him until they can figure out a long term solution. If the long term solution is my mom living there then that's what it is.

It was nice seeing him around Addi today. Sure he may not have known what was going on, but at least I was able to snap a few shots of them together so she can remember him.

Sorry for all the posts lately. I just feel like there's so much going on lately that I just need to get out/talk about or I'll go crazy. Coming up this week-Addi's birthday party and Christmas stuff :)

Family Fun Day...part 1

As part of family fun day/weekend, we carved pumpkins tonight. Well Kyle and I carved ours, Addi painted hers. I can't wait to make the pumpkin seeds and eat them. I haven't had them in YEARS! Here are our before/during and after shots of our night. Enjoy!

Tomorrow we are going to the Heston Steam Museum for the 'haunted' train ride. The kids are going to LOVE it!

Lots of pumpkins to carve!

Painting her pumpkin...she was so proud of herself!

Jake and Addi's pumpkins

Mommy and Daddys pumpkins.

Can't wait to see what sort of fun tomorrow brings!

Your Three Words Friday

Let's Start Shopping!!!

It has come to that time of the year where I start Christmas/birthday shopping for family, friends and Addison.

I've been tossing around the idea of getting her an iPod since she uses my phone all the time but I'm not really sure. She'd love it I'm sure, but then I find cuter stuff to get her. I want to get her some sort of educational game system like a Leapster or Leap Frog like this one:

Leapfrog Leapster 2

I'm also tossing around the idea of the Leapfrog Explorer. This one has the touch screen and a stylus but less games and it's more expensive. She's played with this one and seemed to enjoy it.

I think I'm also going to get her an easel like this one from Toys R Us

And probably lots of clothes, some Blue's Clues movies/cds and baby dolls. I'm sure I'll find more stuff when I go shopping but these are just my ideas so far :)

Leg Update

My leg is healing up nicely, well as nicely as it can for happening 20 days ago. It's not as deep anymore but I can still see muscle (gross I know!). I still have to wrap it up and change the dressing two times a day and my leg is still very much indented. My lower calf is also numb and my upper calf is swollen. This is completely normal since they cut out everything so I don't have nerves from my middle calf down and they cut an artery or vein (I can't remember) which is making my upper calf swollen. In time everything will connect and grow back but that's going to take a long time. Months in fact. I go back on Nov. 15th for another check up. I was given the go ahead by the doctor to work out but I'm not sure how I feel about doing Zumba with a huge hole in my leg. It still bleeds alot when I do a lot of walking so I'm not sure how it will do if I'm bustin' a move working out. But oh how I miss it so! Maybe I'll go Saturday morning and just give it a shot...
