Happy 9 Month Birthday Monkey!!

Happy 9 Month Birthday Addison!!

We celebrated by being at the doctors for a double ear infection and possible UTI. What a fun day!

What you're up to these days...
eating a lot of big girl food-favorits are bananas, noodles and yogurt. cruising the furniture, using your push toys to walk all over the living room, looking out the window with the dogs, climbing all over the dogs, playing with dad. You love going to day care or school as we call it, and playing with all the big kids. Kelly says you don't act like a 9 month old. You act more like a 2 year old. You don't like playing with "baby" toys but would rather play with the kitchen set or blocks. You love playing with Emileigh. You said "dida" the other day while looking at daddy. He was very excited about that! Still no "mama" yet. You do say "yama" and look at me. so maybe that's your way of saying "mama". You're FINALLY sleeping through the night!!!

Mom and Dad love you monkey! Watching you grow these last 9 months has been an amazing experience. 3 more months and you'll be a toddler! But you'll always be mommy and daddy's little girl!

Just a little update....

Addison is on round 4 of ear infections. 4th one in 5 months to be exact. We are going to the ENT on October 5th for a consoultation for tubes. Right now I'm hoping for some "cure" to this. Every runny nose she gets ends in an ear infection. Right now she's fighting an ear infection, cold and I think *keeping fingers crossed* a tooth coming in. She has literally slept all day.

She got her first black eye the other day at school. Superbaby climbed over a kids table and did a half sumersault onto some toys. I guess she cried for about 5 minutes and went back to playing. She's got a nice shiner forming.

I can't believe she'll be 9 months next week. That seems impossible to me. Where has the time gone? I remember this time last year being pregnant and giving birth and thats pretty much about it. Those nights of sleeping on the couch because she could not sleep laying down and had to sleep in her crib for 7 weeks are long gone. She's finally sleeping through the night :) the days of her crying for hours on end only to find out it was a milk protien allergy that she, so far, seems to be outgrowing. It's just amazing to me that my little baby will be 1 in 3 months. I honestly can not believe how time has just flown by.

Atwood Lake, Wolcottville, IN

For the holiday weekend we went up to my familys cabin in Wolcottville, IN (by Shipshewana). Nothing like Amish country, no cell phone service, and the smell of farms for miles around to seal out a relaxing weekend. My sister and her kids, dad and step mom were also up there. Little stressful at times with all three kids crying or whinning but we got through. A few of my favorite shots.....

I can't wait until next year when Addison will actually enjoy seeing the horses or going for a boat ride. Although I think she did enjoy it, it will just be different next time.

Just Monkey'n Around!

Since August flew by, I know September-November will too so I've been doing some searching for party themes for Addisons 1st birthday. After some searching and realizing that we don't want a typical "Fun to be One" theme, I think I've nailed it down to this.

It's called Mod Monkey and I guess from the blogs and websites that I've read it's very popular, even with adults. And because we call her monkey, I thought it fit perfectly! I have found some cute invitations on Etsy that I'm thinking about ordering.
These are cute

and I was thinking about these cupcake toppers because instead of doing a full cake, I was thinking about doing cupcakes instead. But that might change because I have found some adorable monkey themed cakes.

and maybe this shirt. I want to see if I can add the number "1" on the back. Some other sellers are making the shirts with name and number, but I don't think it's safe for a child's first name to be on a shirt so we'll see!

And that's what we've been up to lately. This weekend we are going to Topeka, IN and staying at my familys' cabin for a few nights. Nothing like Amish country to ring in Labor Day weekend!
