Sick baby=sad mommy

For the past 6 weeks Addison has had this cough. At first it was bad, then it got better then it got worse again then it was gone. It reared its ugly head again on Monday. I figured its just part of the cold she's getting, no big deal. Last night she was up a few times coughing or would just cough in her sleep-like every 20 minutes though. I've never been one of those "take thier kid to the dr every time they have a cold" kind of mom. I'm a firm believer in it takes 7 days to get a cough, 7 days to have it and 7 days to get rid of it--or at least for adults I am. So like usual, I told Kyle that she has an appt next week anyway I'll just mention it then. He settled on that answer and we dropped the subject.

Today was just like any other day. She woke up, went to school and was fine. That is until my mom picked her up. She had a slight fever-no problem, she's cutting teeth, its normal-and was wheezing. I called the dr and they say to get her into the ER like NOW! I have to leave work-which I have the best boss and coworkers!!-and rush her to the ER. Where we wait. and wait. and wait. Just another reason why I hate Porter Memorial. Glad there were nothing seriously wrong with her. She gets blood drawn and chest xrays and we wait some more. Finally the dr comes back and says she has bronchitis. Oh joy! Nothing a little bit of antibiotics can't take care of.

Now she's sleeping. A poptart from the vending machine was for dinner. Poor baby. I feel so bad for her. I'm hoping these meds kick in soon and her cough sounds better.

I am happy: spending time with Addison and Kyle

I imagine: what life would be like if thing were better.

Cakes, Cakes and more Cakes!

Sorry for the delay on the birthday party post, our main computer is overheating and won't stay on so we are borrowing my mom's old laptop which is kind of a pain to upload/download pictures on. But I did manage to upload all of Addison's birthday party (parties) pictures. So without further waiting...here they are!

Monday we just celebrated here with cake and ice cream. My parents, sister and her kids came over. I think Addison had a good time if I don't say so myself!


Saturday was the Ledbetter side party. Think she likes chocolate cake? I have NO idea where she could get from :P


Sunday was the Wiesemann side party. Over 35 people were there. It was a great time. Not sure what she had more fun doing, eating cake, or playing with her friends!


She also got 2 new teeth for her birthday. Yes, the top ones finally popped through! :) Now I think she is working on some more. She's starting to get a runny nose, has diarrhea (maybe tmi but its true!!) and is constantly chewing on her blanket or fingers. She is also a pro at walking, I mean borderline running, now.

Hopefully our computer gets fixed soon and I can go back to regularly posting pictures :/

New Year, New Me!

I think everyone's New Years Resolution is to loose weight and eat right. Well this year, I'm going to do it. For the 4 weeks I was on Weight Watchers last year (before I got pregnant) I lost 15lbs. I need to loose that and more. So that's it. I've found a website to calculate the WW points-since I'm NOT paying to go again and starting counting points. I also ordered the Jullian Michaels "30 Day Shred" dvd which I heard kicks your butt so that will be good too. I really wish I could get my gym membership back :(

I can't believe that a year ago today I was in labor; that a year ago today, my life changed forever; that a year ago today I fell in love with someone more than I ever thought possible.

Addison, you are such an amazing little girl. Your laugh is contagious. Your smile lights up a room. Watching you grow this past year has been a dream come true. Watching you learn new things every day is the best part of being a mom. I will continue to enjoy watching you grow and learn but this past year has been wonderful. I am proud to be your mom. I love you monkey!

Christmas Wrap-Up

Thurdsay and Friday were jammed packed with christmas parties. Thursday morning we went to my dads house and opened presents there. The girls definetely got a lot of good gifts from Santa!

Friday morning we woke up and opened gifts here. Kyle got me an external hard drive, I got him a Blackhawks jersey and tickets to a game. I might be the best wife ever. I didn't get any pictures of Addison opening gifts. She saw this one
and wanted nothing to do with any more presents.

After we were done here, we went next door to my moms. Where Toys R Us relocated to. See what I mean?! There were about 25 gifts for each kid, a trampoline, a slide, a tunnel/tent combo and an easel. Think my parents went a little over board this year? But its ok, the girls had fun jumping on the trampoline instead of opening up presents and that's all that matters!


We left moms with a no nap 1 year old and headed to Lansing for Kyle's family party. She got some good gifts there but I think she had more fun teasing the dog :)



Back to my dads house we went. I was too busy using the camcorder to take any pictures. Santa was there though!
This was NOT her face for Santa. She screamed when it was her turn to receive presents.

I hope Santa was good to everyone this year. I can't believe it's already December 27th. Tomorrow is Addison's 1st birthday!!
